An Instant Daughter
August 29, 2010A 13 or 14-year old girl whom I know turns out to have her parents go somewhere, so she had to be left to me. For some reason though, she is suddenly at 8 or 9 years old, though she looked exactly as she really does. So I had to take her home with me and get used to raising her as my own child. She has already started calling me Mommy.
At home, I remembered that my parents and I are moving to a bigger house, so I was relieved that I would get a bigger bedroom, since I bought new pieces of furniture. I guess the new house would also be suited to us since I now have a daughter.
Since she just transferred to a new school, I had to bring her to class and sit in with her on her first day. It was great that she seemed to do well. As I sat on my chair though, I noticed Sosuke (someone I REALLY like) sitting on one of the desks, and he was practicing writing in script on pieces of yellow pad. I looked over his shoulder and noticed how uniform his handwriting was. I saw my daughter watching me, and giving me a look that seemed to tell me she knows I like him. I gave her a look that said she should not pay attention to me and should pay attention to her lessons instead.
After a while, a principal or a teacher came in, and told me that my daughter seems to be able to adapt to her new environment well so I might not have to sit in all day. I turned to her and whispered to her to convince Sosuke that I can “read” people’s handwritings, so that he would have a reason to come by our house. My daughter gave me a knowing smile that said, “consider it done,” and I felt that a bond has formed between us. She also seemed to say that she did not mind having Sosuke as her dad.
As I stepped out of the classroom, I looked at her and said “Grazie!” We were going to have coffee after class so she smiled and I knew she was looking forward to drinking coffee.
A Snake By My Bed

A Japanese Centipede
August 11, 2009I was in our old home in one of the older towns in the city. Our bathroom there was quite small, and there was a huge covered container of water immediately on your left when you enter it. In the dream, I went in, but there was no light. My only source of light was the one from the kitchen, which the bathroom is facing.
I think there were two (2) or three (3) other people inside, though I do not remember who they were. Also, they were inside, standing, as people do when they are in cocktail parties.
I think I heard my mom shout from outside about a centipede.
I turned and saw, on the top of the covered container, a gigantic centipede. It was supposed to be a Japanese Centipede
However, it did not look like an actual Japanese Centipede, as they would appear in real life. I checked in Google and a real Japanese centipede would look like this:

The so-called Japanese Centipede in my dream was about one and a half feet long, its body rounded and very thick, like one and a half inches thick. It was black and very shiny, like it was made of very hard scales. I would describe its body as very similar to the toy snakes I had when I was a child. The long black ones made of shorter hollow cylinders attached together to form a movable or moving snake. The Japanese Centipede in my dream was like that. And then its legs were shorter than an actual centipede’s and they bend upwards like crab legs, and these legs are quite tough too, that they kind of make ticking sounds as they crawlon surfaces. Then, between the body and the legs, there are yellow spots, as if marking where their feet come out.
My mom shouted in my dream to warn us, because the Japanese was said to be very deadly. I immediately stepped back to leave the bathroom.
Next thing I know, I was on my way to the living room, which looked slightly different. My dad was there, watching TV. In the dream, he has the TV Chair which he has now in our current home. I looked down and found the Japanese Centipede crawling under his chair, on the way to his feet. I yelled so that he can hit the Japanese Centipede on the head and body as it crawled out from under him. Suddenly, my dad was holding a huge black thing which I know was heavy. He didn’t hear me right away but just in time, he was able to smash the head or the body of the Japanese Centipede.
